I'm Becky Coles, and no, I'm not a musician.

I'm a broadcaster and media professional with 20+ years of experience helping people tell their stories in a way that actually gets heard. I know how to get attention, build an audience, and make someone impossible to ignore online and off.

(I also happen to be in love with a drummer.)

That's how I ended up doing what I do. Over the years, I've been the one updating the band's Facebook page, pitching to local media, designing the promo materials, wrangling the group chat, and reminding everyone that the gig is in two weeks and nobody has promoted it yet.

Sound familiar?

Where my experience comes from

I spent more than 20 years in Canadian radio, including as a talk show producer at NewsTalk 1010 in Toronto and morning show co-host and assistant music director at 820 CHAM in Hamilton. In 2017, I received the RTDNA Peter Gzowski Award for Best News Information Program. I know what media, venues, and audiences pay attention to, and I'm based in Niagara, working with bands across Canada.

Why I started The Drummer’s Girlfriend

I built The Drummer's Girlfriend because I kept meeting people in exactly the same spot I'd been in. Musicians who are brilliant on stage and invisible online. Partners and bandmates who stepped up to help and had no idea where to start.

You don't need a marketing degree. You don't need a big budget. You need someone who's been where you are and can show you what actually works.
